Dammit, i knew this day would eventually come. That my beloved piece of technology would succumb to the pressure of those around it, and leave this world for another plane of existence. Yes, my XBOX 360 contracted redlightis and passed away at 0840 this morning.

Bah! I've sent it away, stupid 360 tech support, im either guessing that I will never get it back or it may take so much time that by the time it is returned the new XBOX will be available. Either way, colour me royally pissed!
 
To be honest, from all the reports I've read Microsoft support are pretty swift in replacing the broken 360's - a couple of weeks at most :)
 
They're pretty quick to send you back an Xbox that's not yours, likely requiring you to transfer your registration in order to play any DLC without being logged into Xbox Live.

I don't know how they are today, but when I returned my original launch day unit about a year ago, it was a very quick turn around.

Not sure how it is today.
 
You have to request a shipping box when you call-but its free. It took me 4 days turnaround and they gave me a 1 month GOLD redemption card for the inconvenience. Damn good customer support. Plus, if you hang on to your hard drive and have your LIVE info stored on it-no reclaiming account necessary. And the new chips are s'posed to be good-no more RROD.
