The X Files : Squeeze

DATA476

Ensign
Red Shirt
Series: The X Files

Season: One
Air Date: 24.09.1993
Episode: Three
Rating: 8.9

Synopsis:
One of Scully's friends from the FBI academy, now working in the Violent Crimes Unit, asks her to assist him on a homicide investigation involving no clear point of entry. Mulder realizes that this is similar to a series of X-Files case that have occurred every thirty years, and joins in the investigation to stop the latest cycle.

My View: Squeeze is the first official "monster of the week" story of The X-Files, meant to establish early on that this is not just a show about a bunch of different alien abductions. The idea of a serial killer for whom no point of entry is too small is a chilling idea that is carried off well inside a clever script, and will undoubtedly leave the viewer nervously checking their vents before they go to bed each night. The character of Tooms is also memorable, his primal rage so searing that his every word becomes terrifying. Squeeze also begins a lovely X-Files tradition of Scully being targeted by insane whackos, and fans will love nothing more than seeing this woman put up a fight. Squeeze is a first-rate episode that showcases what television can really be when it puts its mind to it.

What are your views on "Squeeze".

You might be better off with a single thread and a continuous discussion so that your threads won't fall off the main page after a dozen hours. A lot of us haven't seen each individual episode in a long time.

Or just do a S1 of X-Files thread - I remember Squeeze being the first episode I thought was really freaky and interesting.

Loved this episode...gave one of Mulder's best lines up to that point!

*after putting hand in bile* "Is there anyway I can get it off my fingers quickly without betraying my cool exterior?"

Ha ha, no kidding. I can barely remember what happened on Lost or Heroes last season, let alone what happened in an X-Files episode 15 years ago! :D

Thats something to think about, I guess you right in that respect.

Yeh, actually thats a good idea. Maybe a season thread is a good idea to use from now-on. I actually haven't seen some of the later episodes although I was planning on doing so before I was to review those episodes. I was hopeing to do the reviews in this format, but as you've all said, its not going to work. I'll think of something else.
