"The Wolf Inside” Preview

Guessing that this picks up an hour or two after we left Burnham and Voq/Tyler...

As I said in the other thread, one of the things I noticed is aside from the opening scene with Burnham, the Discovery crew are not in the Terran Empire disguises any longer, but back in their regular Federation uniforms. This suggests their cover is blown (or the mission is successful) pretty early on in the next episode.

As I watch the trailer, and through Burnham's monologue, I started thinking the Mirror Universe might be a means to take Discovery down the Breaking Bad path. At least for this arc.

"Can you pretend to be one of them as little by little it kills the person you really are?"

I'm sure Walter White asked himself that a few times during the first two seasons but, whenever he did, he tragically pressed on. By the fourth season, we got to the point where he finally said, "A guy opens up his door and gets shot and you think that's me? No. I'm not in danger, Skyler, I am danger. I'm the one who knocks."

Could be. The option is there. I'd like to think the main theme is still redemption, though. Burnham knows she made some extremely wrong choices and was willing to pay for for them, until getting lured (not that she had much choice) by Lorca into his own bizarre redemption gambit. Neither of them can bring back the people they lost.

I only mention it because I figure if they're looking at Prestige TV, Breaking Bad is one of the first shows to look at. Then the monologue got me thinking.

Though, maybe it's a means to respond to the other shows out there by, like you said, showing redemption in the face of a universe where the temptation to go the other way is so great. That takes a look at Prestige TV and turns it back around into Star Trek.

Probable content warnings for Space Channel to include: violence, language, nudity and sexuality?

Fair to expect all four, d'you think?

Someone mentioned that beside Voq (?) at the table is a traditional TNG looking Klingon. It's a bit too blurry for me to agree, but it's possible. Would be fun if on one side was a TNG Klingon, the other side a TOS Klingon.

I'm guessing Sarek melds with michael to either extract information, or find out she's telling the truth (assuming she told them they're from an alternate reality)

I'm guessing it's the later. Didn't MirrorSpock mind meld with Kirk to basically find out the truth and what was going on?
