An all-time classic and one of my favorites, for sure. As it became a television staple, the '39 movie achieved a level of cultural pervasiveness that is virtually unmatched. So prevalent, in fact, that we're almost not conscious of its influence any more, its just fundamental background. But if you stop and take notice of how often in normal life you hear stuff like "not in Kansas any more," "if I only had a brain," "the man behind the curtain" and so on, it's pretty amazing.
I got the 75th anniversary BD a while back, and it's really nice.
