Hi!
Bit of news on this, Michelle Yeoh has been cast in the title role, so that means Section 31 will have to wait a bit more it seems.

1000 years before The Witchers time, 6 episode series.

Yeoh is taking up the role of Scían, the last remaining member of a nomadic tribe of sword-wielding elves. "No one can come close to her artistry with the blade, and no one carries as much loss within their heart," reads the official character description. "When a chance presents itself to retrieve a stolen sacred sword, taken from her fallen tribe by nefarious means, she launches herself into a deadly quest that will change the outcome of the Continent."

So thoughts?

I know almost nothing about the property in general, but I liked the world as it appeared in the Netflix series. I'd be interested in seeing the first 'Witcher' and learning how that world comes to be. And Michelle Yeoh as a badass elf seems awesome. So sounds pretty cool.

Well, at least this might be a less confusing show (since I'm assuming its not going to juggle multiple timelines that involve average humans never aging but are still supposed to be decades apart :shifty:). I liked the first season of the main show on Netflix well enough, but it didn't do a good job of making the sequence of events clear, which hurt the show. Presumably, a spinoff like this will be more straightforward, structure wise at least.

Once it became clear we had multiple timeline going, I had no problem following the main show. The same thing happened with me with Westworld. Guess maybe I've just watched enough of these kind of non-linear stories that I'm good at picking up little clues to where we are on the timeline.

So do the books get into the origins of the Witchers or is this pretty much all going to be made up for the show?

I was already looking forward to this, but knowing Michelle Yeoh will be in it has me even more interested.
