The Witcher 2

I just completed my first play through and I have to admit I really liked the game. I liked the story much more than Dragon Age 2 and I think it has some very good concepts and action.

has anyone else played it and what are your thoughts?

I started playing it but I had to put it on hold since I'm on a work related trip right now. I loved what I played though and I was floored by how awesome the first one was.

I am really looking forward to picking it back up when I get back.

Who did you side with at the end of Act 1? My first playthrough I went with Roche without a second thought, as I didn't care at all for the Scoia'tael or their methods in the first game, but after choosing Iorveth in my second playthrough I ultimately found it to be the more satisfying (and "gooder") of the two paths. After seeing the Vergen side of things in Act 2 I kind of felt dirty about working for Henselt in my first playthrough.

I pretty much went the Scoia'tael route the whole way through, saved the Princess, did all the goody goody stuff. Overall I was satisfied with the result but that play through was unusual for me since I almost always play as the asshole the first way through. I have yet to have a second play through but I'm looking forward to doing so.

One thing I can say that was disappointing with in regards to the second game is that it's save feature carry over from the first game APPEARS to be less robust than Mass Effects. I'm not that far into it but.....

I started the game and I was hooked up with Merigold....which made little sense since I ditched her for Shani in the first game

Who knows though, maybe it gets explained as I go through the game.

I had planned to go with Roche, but after listening to him I thought the Scoia'tael was clearly the better choice. I wasn't let down, I then sided with Sasika, killed Phillipa the Dragon and then killed Letso.

edit: I did try to hit every women I could, I think I hit about four of them I think

Game of the year in my opinion. Lovely game, and it actually was a true RPG ... unlike Dragon Age 2 and the other crap that passes for high fantasy these days.
