The Walking Dead family friendly edited version coming to Broadcast TV

Re: The Walking Dead family friendly edited version coming to Broadcas

I was just watching Hannibal the other day and I think it is gorier and more disurbing that TWD. If they can get away with that on basic cable, I don't see too many issue coming up with TWD.

Family-friendly Walking Dead. What a concept. The Addams Family, maybe.

They could always do this. :D
Thank you. My blood pressure is much better now. :rommie:

Has anyone watched Spartacus on SyFy? I just wonder how coherent it is since so many key scenes revolved around baths, orgies, gladiator locker rooms, and nude masquerade parties. Do they cut the scenes entirely or CGI strategically placed dick concealing tables and breast concealing hands?

I watched a little out of curiosity and it works better than it has any right to. From what I saw it was a little bit of everything, maybe a cut, a zoom, a blur, an overlay, whatever depending on the scene. Of course, I'm not even sure they cut any violence.

Can I help it that Spielberg made the most genius response to people freaking out over violence on cartoons? It works for so much! :D
Indeed. It was a nice shot at those watchdogs of media morality. :rommie:

TWD reruns begin airing tonight on the MyNetworkTV channel!

Two episodes every Wednesday night. "Days Gone Bye" and "Guts" is scheduled to air tonight.

I will probably check it out even though I already own the dvds. It is airing from 9-11PM where I live. :D

You'd think they'd be able to fit two edited episodes into a one-hour slot. :D

Well I saw the episodes. They were watchable, but you'll quickly notice they were edited if you ever saw the original episodes.

The Pilot was cut to hell, but it was originally a 67 minute extended episode, so that's understandabe. The time Rick spent with Morgan felt extremely short.

The second episode was better.

I must have seen the same Geico commercial 4 times in the span of two hours though!

I might occasionally check out the later episodes on the TV if I have the time.

I saw it last night and I thought they did a good job of the editing.

I can't believe they are doing this. This reminds me of the whole Dexter season one thing.

As silly as it is, bored channel surfing that had me end up watching a "Dexter" episode cut for CBS is what lead me into that show. Sometimes, it's timing and convenient exposure that can get people to watch something.

Stranger things, you know? Someone who might never watch it on AMC with their preconceived notions might happen upon a less-bloody version on broadcast and become intrigued enough to back-track to the real deal.

And believe me, it's tough to say that, cause I hate broadcast TV "standards" and the edits they do, the nonsense they demand, the censorship and such. Hate it with a passion. But I've seen it help bring people in.
