Caught Tim Russ this morning and Robert Beltran this afternoon at the Creation con in Boston. Robert Picardo & Garrett Wang will be on stage tomorrow.
Both actors did well and Robert was cordial if not highly "rah rah" Voyager.
When asked if he ever read a script and thought "this sux" he laughed, "You mean like the last 3 years?" He didn't elaborate further. He did try to riff on many comments and some worked better than others and fed into a few J/C fantasies to the delight of the crowd.
The best part of the day was when I got my B&W cast photo signed and he turned those dimples on me and winked while passing it back to me.

The 2nd best part of the day was this morning when I realized Bob Picardo had just sat down to sign at a vendors table and no one realized it nor were in line yet. After he signed my large B&W cast photo, he pointed out a similar one for sale on his table where the cast were all laughing such that Roxanne was doubled over. I have looked for THAT photo at conventions since 2001 and NEVER found it so naturally I bought it and had him sign it too.
Tim was fun, as was his Voyager rendition of the Love Boat theme when he said goodbye.

When asked what kind of alien (other than Vulcan) he'd like to play, he admitted he wouldn't want to be covered in Latex. His dream alien would be someone who's culturally vastly different like the TNG ep where they only spoke in metaphors ("Darmok at Tanagra.") or the Voy ep where Chakotay was brainwashed by a species who spoke "different." (You've got the trembles. If you don't wrestle your trembles to rages, ally, the Nemesis will nullify you.)
He was also asked about "Renegades" and noted they were now in post production doing the CG stuff. He directed it and are hoping CBS / Paramount look serious at it as a pilot for a new TV series.
Someone brought up TUVIX and he commented on his fav scene in the ep was the final one of Janeway walking away after she knew her actions killed a being to bring back her 2 crewmen. Since its my fav scene too, I knew just what he was getting at.
For the last 13 years I've had that B&W Voyager cast photo with just 2 names on it. Tonight I have 5 signatures and if Garret arrives tomorrow it will be 6 out of 8. Not bad in one weekend.
What does stink is that the convention was going to have 3 Captains, Kate, Scott and Avery, two of whom I never caught before this weekend and a Greek god (Cupid). Then Scott cancelled in April for a work (NCIS-NO?) commitment, Kate canceled in mid-May for OitNB press commitments, Karl Urban dropped all cons June 2nd for personal issues, and late this afternoon Avery canceled for tomorrow.
Talk about being "snake bit."
But I did get to put my arm around Robert at the photo ops, and he winked/smiled at me 6 hours later so I'm still a happy camper.

Oh... and the Enterprise Boys were here too, John Dominick and Connor are completely insane not to mention totally irreverent!
Terry Farrell represented DS9 today and was a fun guest.
The only real negative today was one questioner that elicited a series of boos from the audience. Since Terry had refused to answer him she thought the audience was booing her until she was reassured they were actually directed at the questioner.
We ended with Walter Koenig and he was fun and much ore mellow than when I saw him 14 years ago.
Lets just hope tomorrow goes smooth.
