TNG was a great series; and First Contact is a fun movie. But the last truly Joy-filled wondrous happy feeling I had with Star Trek was Star Trek IV; The Voyage Home. A fun filled, joyful film that made me laugh and made my mother in law laugh. A fun film; a good film. "Hello computer!" And of course directed by Mr. Nimoy. My favorite Star Trek film. Like an episode of Little House on the Prarie, sure, but a sweet movie to hold in our heart.

"They like you very much, but they are not the hell your whales." "I suppose they told you that." "The hell they did."
"I don't think he understands." "No, Spock. He means that he feels safer about your guesses than most other people's facts." "Then you're saying...it is a compliment?" "It is." "Ah... Then I will try to make the best guess I can."
