The VIEWSCREEN

Flying Spaghetti Monster

Vice Admiral
Admiral
How big was it, in inches?

Someone must know. I have a 40 inch plasma, and I hacve it at one end of my living room. Was trying to compare. my guess is that its 80 inches.

TV screens are measured on the diagonal, right? Well, on the Michael McMaster bridge blueprints sheet 5, the viewscreen is 5.13 in diagonally with a scale of 1:16, so that translates to 82 inches. You're pretty close.

It was probably 1080p with 7.1 Digital Surround, but I've not seen any evidence to suggest that it had picture-in-picture or built in DVD

It had an early form of picture-in-picture. But it was found to be a bit inconvenient, as you had to look above the science officer's station to see the small picture.
