The V’Ger Incident: What Would the Romulans Have Done?

In the alt universe from DS9: Past Tense, the Romulans controlled what should have been human space.... Romulus would have had to deal with both V'Ger and the Whale Probe... Unless the whales survived until Past Tense alt 2369 because man was too busy dying off to #### the whales?

The Romulan government is so unsure of its citizens that it's almost standard procedure for it to threaten them with the most dire retaliations at the slightest sign of hesitation (they threaten to kill not only them but their entire family if they rebel). That's the sign of a brutal dictatorship that is mistrustful of even its most meritorious citizens, the closer equivalent on Earth would be the Nazis aka the third Reich.

I think the Romulans were too busy preparing their new hairstyles and V shaped foreheads to worry about a cloud going to earth to be honest! :rommie:

Perhaps they would have noticed this impossiby huge thing was headed for Earth and shrugged.

And perhaps assembled several fleets to head out into Federation space to take advantage of the chaos following the inevitable destruction of Starfleet Command.

Despite huge territorial gains, it was ultimately futile. Having cleansed the Earth of the carbon-based infestation but failed to find its Creator, V'Ger went on a rage-fuelled frenzy to purge all carbon-based units from the galaxy, regardless of minor genetic differences.

For a few days the Horta and V'Ger occupied a very empty galaxy.

Then V'Ger set course for Andromeda...

And continued until he'd eliminated all carbon units of the entire universe... and all that because of that stupid Kelvin incident!
