From Steve Roberts comment on GB:

"Not until much nearer their release dates, I'm afraid! I have the DVD extras for both [The Moonbase and Underwater Menace] sat here ready for grading, but don't plan on putting the releases together for a few weeks."

Good stuff.

Given that Moonbase is out announced as being out in October, that almost makes it sound as if there might be a surprise release of Underwater Menace soon after - or even with it. But somehow I doubt it...

I'd love to see all of Moonbase. I've seen the two surviving episodes, and I loved them. Maybe even more than Tomb.

With The Moonbase, Underwater Menace and The Tenth Planet getting releases this year, how likely is it other serials will have their missing episodes animated? IIRC all remaining unreleased serials have either the majority or all episodes missing so it would be more expensive to animate them all, on the other hand there's not much classic Who left. If they don't start releasing more missing serials the line will end at the end of this year.

Crusade is fairly likely. For the ones that have more episodes missing, 2entertain(or whatever that branch of the bbc is called since woolworths died) would not be able to make it at a profit. I think we'd only get them if the bbc commisioned them for tv release first. So not that likely.

^ Overtime, the cost to animate them will decrease and eventually reach a point where it makes economic sense.

Originally, it was going to be only The Invasion because of co-funding. Then the costs came down and we got Reign of Terror. They could do the missing episodes without co-founding. Now they're moving onto multiple stories that have 2 episodes missing. They'll expand from there I'm sure as costs continue to drop.
