The UESN

...Although there might have been. After all, this "United Earth" thing had been going in some form or another since WWIII, whereas the organization known as Starfleet apparently didn't exist yet in Archer's youth. So theoretically, something called the UESN or whatever could have been extant in the late 21st, early 22nd century, until replaced by the UESF (or renamed the UESF).

Personally, I like to integrate as much elements from fandom/backstage pseudo-nonfic books, RPGs and novels into "my Trek continuity" as possible. And the ages-old concept of Starfleet being founded in the late 21st century (see e.g. Spaceflight Chronology) could nicely refer to the UESF rather than to the modern idea of the UFP SF being founded in 2161. Some sort of a space navy would in turn have preceded the UESF, and I wouldn't mind seeing a cool uniform design or two for such an organization.

Where Kokomo is coming from, though, I have no idea.

It was the name of the organization defending Earth in Berman's failed ST11 pitch.
That it exactly what I am referring to. I wasn't sure if it was an organization that already existed or was simply created for the movie. But, now I know that it never existed in the current continuity :lol:

I've never heard of UESN or UESF, although I can understand what the intitials allude to. Are you thinking of UESPA (United Earth Space Prope agency), or have I missed the point of this thread completely?

I don't think it existed in any continuity.

UESF= United Earth Starfleet.

And to be doubly sure, "UESF" is fan shorthand for the ENT organization, not a name or abbreviation that would have appeared onscreen.

However, that doesn't necessarily mean the ENT era folks didn't use the letters UESF themselves. We simply didn't see sufficiently many objects or vehicles in service or possession of that organization to spot the ones with "UESF" stenciled on them...
