Contest: ENTER The True Heroes of Our Times

Well, in the end, this was kind of an obvious theme, so why not go with it. During the current pandemic, most societies have learned new respects for those working in essential jobs. The doctors, nurses, police, care-givers, but also clerks in supermarkets, grocery stores and pharmacies, as well as workers in public transportation, delivery services, truckers, and garbage disposal. People who not only work hard, but risk their own health to keep society functioning. Even when we will have made it through this crisis, these people deserve our appreciation and, though most of us have little influence in the matter, higher wages (most of these jobs are criminally underpaid almost all over the world) and better treatment.

While we can't do much about the latter around here, we certainly can celebrate these everyday-heroes among us, and part of it is this contest.

Remember the rules, entries may not exceed 200x200 pixels and/or 1Mb data, and no NSFW material. Let's start with one entry per user. Also, no fictional and/or dramatized media. News media and documentaries are fine.

Okay, if nobody else is going to enter, I'm gonna go ahead and up the number of of entries per user to two. So, everyone who already entered, you may enter another avatar, everyone else, you still have to entries.

Here's my second one:

The Amazon worker who revealed to his co-workers that the virus was in their building, and was then fired for "spreading the virus".

Truck drivers. Those cases of toilet paper don't just walk into the store on their own. These drivers are out there, driving from one outbreak hotspot to another, just to make sure we can still get the supplies we depend on. And now with everything closing, they're having a difficult time finding places to eat and go to the washroom while on the road.

my # 1 hero is my sister in law who only just started a training as a pediatric nurse and volunteered for work in a home for elderly people where many are infected. Damned curageous! :klingon:

And my #2 is my dentist who not only didn't close his praxis but also organized a private Kindergarten and school for the children of his assistants. The rooms used for the children are strictly separate from the rooms for the patients and security and hygiene are simular to those in a b-weapons lab :)
