This rare featurette was originally distributed in 480p through the defunct CinemaNow service in 2013 through a code included with the season three Blu-ray set of TNG sold at Best Buy in America, and through startrek.de in 1080p for a limited time in 2014 for Germans, Austrians, and Swiss who bought the fourth season. CinemaNow later released it for free to the general public in 2016 before its closure, along with the Enterprise featurette "Shuttlepod One: Declassified," which was originally restricted to Americans, Germans, Austrians, and Swiss who had purchased the first season of ENT on Blu-ray.
