The TMP Enterprise Reveal, Giacchino-style

I wasn't sure where exactly to post this so I figured here was a safe enough place. The music is from a Kelvin timeline movie and the video from a "Prime" universe movie, so here it'll go.

I was listening to the Beyond soundtrack, which has become one of my favorites as did the movie itself, and was wondering how epic Night On The Yorktown would sound as the backdrop to the big, drawn out, starship porn-y reveal of the Enterprise in TMP. Well, wonder no more. I did shorten the scene down quite a bit with some faster edits to fit the music better. Enjoy. :)

And if there is a better place to post this besides art, feel free to beam it there.

Well, The Enterprise is my favorite piece of Star Trek music ever (and one of my favorite pieces of music period). But that worked surprisingly well. Nice job.

Nicely done, Flux! Missed a couple musical cues, but there's no way you could hit them since it was composed for a different scene entirely. That came out much better than I expected. There's also another scene later in Beyond where the Enterprise is entering the nebula, and the music and sound is briefly evocative of The Motion Picture's entering V'Ger's cloud.

And I agree about Star Trek: Beyond. I like it better than the other Abrams outings and the music is much better, too. I was really looking forward to 2009, given that I'd been keeping my eye on Giacchino, but it didn't compare to the work he'd done on (for example) The Incredibles. Beyond, though worked much better.

Thanks!

Thanks! I'm curious as to which cues you felt were missed. I did re-edit the scene a bit to make it work better in certain places. I had wised there was something more epic to show during the time the pod is making it's u-turn but I didn't have much to work with. Gave myself goosebumps when the Enterprise appears with that fanfare followed by the shot of Kirk and the reflection. That has to be my favorite addition made in the Director's Cut.
