While almost everyone expected it, they did a magnificent job.
How did it make you feel seeing that?
When they showed the bridge, and those closeup details, and the crew reactions, it must have been the most emotional TV/movie moment I've ever had.
Then Majel's voice came up and I was just shaking and gasping for air a little!

Locutus, not the voice. Jack will use his transmitter status to overtake not only the recently assimilated Frontier Day Borg, but all Borg everywhere. He is the transmitter. Jack is his mothers healer. He will heal all the Borg. Q shows up in the end for a nice endcap.

That is my prediction.

I was never a particular fan of the Galaxy-class design, but I don't think I've seen anything so beautiful in all of Star Trek as the Enterprise-D setting sail once more. It's not the ship itself, but it's what the ship represents. The Enterprise with by far the most screen time. The Enterprise whose crew made me fall in love with Star Trek in the first place. Majel Barrett's wonderful voice cameo. That bridge set recreation. Everyone back at their classic posts. The TMP/TNG fanfare as the Enterprise eased out of bay 12. I could go on.

Yes, it's 100% pure, some might say gratuitous, fan service.

I think some are bitter that their favorite show did not last long enough to ever get future fan service like this.

Then as the Queen says that resistance is still futile bla bla, he will respond: That'll be the day...
And he jumps over the arch and takes tactical, looks into the camera as flames engulf the bridge...

Loved it. I'm one of the handful of people who always liked the Enterprise-D more than any of the others. Seeing it again - the exterior and interior beauty passes, the crew's reactions, everything - was brilliant.

Then we got Majel Barrett's voice and I just lost it. Utterly appropriate, utterly right.

The family is really back together now.

If you look closely, the saucer still has some damage from the crash. Burn marks and such.

the framing of the shot was weird. I thought she was in the top dome, but she exited from the mid section of the station.

Geordi rebuilding piecing "his baby" all back together, within realistic means since he doesn't have the largest of support crews, with some areas not completed, battle "scars" and all, and getting parts from other ships, just gives it an authentic feel. And is very much in character. I love this. In proper Trek tradition, the chief engineer treating their beloved ship-- it's thoughtfully done.

That’s what pushed me over the ledge
