The Star Trek Universe is planned out till 2027

A DS9 spinoff would blow my mind at this point. No possibility will ever go unbelieved after that.

In a virtual panel a couple of months ago, he mentioned that he's working on a new project, but couldn't disclose what it was due to an NDA he had signed. It could be anything, but I've got my fingers crossed it's Trek related.

If you had asked me 5-6 years ago if even a single series was possible, I would have laughed. Unreal where we are at now!

I predicted a new Trek series on this BBS 10 years after the first Kelvin movie (2009) ... They beat my prediction by 2 years. The rest is simply incredible.

I'm really looking forward to Strange New Worlds, my pipe dream is that tptb decide to eat the cost of a HD remaster project for DS9 and Voyager, it might come in handy as these new spin-offs like to mine elements from both shows (Section 31 being an example).

They'll have some type of DS9-related new series sooner or later. It's the only one that hasn't gotten or isn't getting a lead-in or follow-up yet.

TOS --> SNW will be a lead-in and so were the first two seasons of DSC.
TNG --> Picard obviously.
VOY --> Prodigy will be a follow up with Janeway, and PIC is a follow-up with Seven.
ENT --> Partially followed up on in DSC's first season and referenced elsewhere.

So DS9 will step up to the plate eventually. But it'll have to be in something where we don't see Ben Sisko (since Avery Brooks is no longer acting) or Odo and Nog.

They might recast them. After all, they recast Spock twice...
I think recasting Nog and Odo would be in poor taste this soon.

In the case of Spock, both new actors were playing a younger version of Spock. Even if Leonard Nimoy were alive, there's no way he could play someone in his 20s. That wasn't going to happen. Presumably, in a DS9-related series, Nog and Odo would be older, not younger. In which case, the original actors would've played them had they not died.

You get some leeway if they ever decided to do a DS9 prequel and set it on Terok Nor.
