OK folks, some explanation first:

The original Results Page for the Episode Clash! has been deleted - God knows why or how. So, I was left with two options: pack in the Clash!, which I didn't want to do because it's fun to do (thanks to you guys who vote every week

) or else go to the painstaking trouble of reconstructing this thread - which, as you see, I did. So, let's hope this never happens again, and I personally guarantee that all of the above results are exactly as they were a week ago. So now here are the

DECEMBER 5 RESULTS

Doomsday Machine butchers all

In a hardly surprising result, TOS classic The Doomsday Machine won Round 34 in a landslide. 19 out of 24 voters named it their favorite Episode #36. Only three were convinced VGR's Investigations was the better episode, while TNG's The Dauphin and DS9's Shadowplay only produced one supporter each. ENT's Vanishing Point did exactly that - vanish without a single vote.

Next week: Wolf in the Fold vs. Contagion vs. Playing God vs. Deadlock vs. Precious Cargo. Don't miss it!

DECEMBER 17 RESULTS

TNG is contagious

Contagion wins Round 35 easily. 15 votes paved the way to victory, twice as many as runner-up (and fan favorite) Deadlock (7 votes). TOS follows a close third with 5 for Wolf in the Fold, while both Playing God and Precious Cargo produce only one supporter each.

With its sixth win, TNG closes in on the third place in the Championship Ranking, currently held by ENT. One more win and the first Modern Trek will have equalled the Clash! success of the most recent show.

On Thursday, see "The Changeling" battle it out with "The Royale", "Profit and Loss", "Innocence" and "The Catwalk". Don't miss it!

It's been doing fine so far. Lately, however, ENT hasn't won much. TNG is catching up.

Well, bear in mind this is only first two seasons stuff so far. Expect a huge leap from TNG when seasons 3-6 hit the voting arena. DS9 should also show a healthy upsurge later on.

A pity TOS only has 3 seasons to compete against the others with, and a double pity that some TOS fans unfairly denigrate its 3rd season so will likely not support its good 3rd season eps just because they don't like the bad ones. Here's hoping I'm wrong on that point though.

Still, ENT will have to do very well in season 3 to compete with TNG and DS9 in the clashes I suspect.

I'd agree that TNG and DS9 should both be taking a huge leap once we get into the Season 3 eps. Especially TNG which really started to pick up during that season.

It came as no surprise (at least not to me): TOS's Mirror Mirror beats out everybody by a huge margin: 23 votes for the first Mirror Universe episode, only 3 for runner-up Tuvix (VGR), one for The Icarus Factor (TNG), and none each for The Maquis, Part 1 (DS9) and Stigma (ENT).

Round 42 is closed. Once again, TOS takes the prize with "Bread and Circuses". It was a close race though, with the final vote (by yours truly, as it happens) making this show overtake runner-up "The Collaborator" (12:11 votes). A far third is ENT's "The Crossing" with two votes, followed by both "Up THe Long Ladder" and "Flashback" with one vote each.

The not so surprising winner of Round 44 is... "The Jem'Hadar"! 22 votes is definitely the mark of an easy victory. More surprising, to me at least, is that TOS's "A Private Little War" reached runner-up status with a respectable 6 votes. Not far behind is TNG, with "The Emissary" and 4 votes. Sharing fourth place are VGR and ENT, with two votes each and the episodes "The Swarm" and "Horizon".

Do Niners REALLY believe this stuff is superior to "Arena", "Tomorrow Is Yesterday", "Coming of Age", "Symbiosis", "Projections", and "Non Sequitur"? Okkkkkkay.

Methinks many of the first season episode contests were hijacked by a bunch of Enterprise gushers and some Niners messsed with the close of the season.
