For Christmas this year I received the complete Star Trek Voyager series on DVD and I've been flipping through the DVDs. While I was watching an episode from Season 3 - specifically 'The Q and the Grey' (I actually didn't remember much about this episode) - I think that I got an idea for what caused the Hobus Stellar Event that destroyed Romulus.
In the episode the Q Civil War caused stars to erupt into Supernovas frequently because of the ammo being used by the Continuum. The weapons damaged subspace and caused multiple stellar events in areas that shouldn't have been undergoing nova formation. What if the destruction of Hobus was the result of the Q Civil War?
I know that someone will say that the Q Civil War took place in 2373 but the Q operate outside of normal time so, for all we know, those supernovas could have happened at any time. Anyone think this is a possibility?
