The "Shocking" Shadowy Character Reveal

Mr Light

In the past two seasons I've noticed the show has a tendency to have a shadowy character profile/voice revelation, which I've always found to be completely and immediately obvious. Did you immediately call these "shockers"?

Christian in the rocking chair, "Beginning of the End"
Ben's "disguised" voice at the end of "The Economist"
The hidden back of Hawking in "The Lie"
Widmore's obscured face in "Jeremy Bentham"
And of course last night's Sawyer/La Fleur off-screen voice reveal in "La Fleur"

The one I didn't get, admittedly, was Wickmund/Candle/Halliwax/Chang/whatever his name is in "Because You Left". That still threw me a little.

I have an excellent knack for recognizing voices quickly, so this tactic works particularly poorly on me, I'm happy to say lol. :D

Oh yeah and there was the classic one in the opening scene of S2 where we think it's Jack in the 1970s but it turns out to be a mysterious new character in the Hatch. THAT one did fool me!

To be fair, we did want to know what was in the hatch following the end of season 1. :p The creators pulled off the perfect trick of actually showing us everything in the Hatch without telling us what we were looking at.

Cleverest season opener ever and still for me LOST's greatest moment. Nice music too.

This particular one I didn't think was Jack. But the whole opener was awesome.

^Yes, it was. One the best, I think. It really shows you everything, but tells you very little. It was great to have the perspective of the guy in the hatch, instead of the people trying to break in!
