The Sho-Rin Has a NEW Job...

...and WOOHOO is in order!

For the past two years, I've had a job for which I was not really suited. I put my best effort into it but the results weren't up to my expectations, or the company's. Three weeks ago, I asked to be laid off so I could continue our medical insurance under COBRA and on Feb. 11, they kindly complied. At about the same time, a company based in Montreal, Quebec showed some interest in me to fill a technical training position. A 30 minute phone interview led to a 2 hour Skype interview which led two weeks ago to a trip to Montreal for a live interview. On March 1, an offer came through and I start on March 14.

I will be delivering highly technical training on a sophistocated electronic security system to customers and installing dealers worldwide. The first mission is a 5 week training program at the Montreal HQ. Once I'm on my feet, the training requests will come from all over the place and I'll be back in the air like George Clooney in Up In the Air (without the extra women). It will certainly cut into my online time, but I'll be much happier in my work and it will undoubtedly take me to some interesting places. Who knows, I might just be coming to YOUR town. :)

The Muta-do is most impressed, for you have passed through the sands of blood.

You have to wear the tux to work every day. That way you can pretend to be a secret agent. It makes a great job even better!.

Congrats! ;)

Glad for the good news!

(The Sho-Rin has already made a trip to T'Bonz's residence in the Romulan Empire, so he ain't kidding when he said he likes to travel! :D)

Well done; nice one!

It takes a lot of personal insight to both know when it's time to move on, but also to do it in a careful & planned way, which sounds like what you've done. Hope you enjoy the new job.

WOOHOO :bolian:

Congratulations. It's nice to have a job that you enjoy doing and that pays well. I have half of that. :rommie:

So you're back to collecting those air miles and special swag from Airlines? :D

Congrats on the new Job.

Congratulations! :) Being in a job you enjoy doing is one of the best feelings in the whole world. Here's to further success.

...and WOOHOO is in order!
One woohoo, coming up!

The new gig starts on Monday, 3/14 with a five week trainng session in the Montreal headquarters. I asked if I could bring my wife up for a weekend and they not only said "Of course" but are paying for her trip. This, plus the 100% payment of all healthcare and life/disability insurance is even greater proof that this is a great opportunity.

If anybody is in Montreal, send me a PM and we can connect IRL.

Hubby and I are very happy for you and the Mrs. Sho-Rin!

Guess we won’t have a chance to meet up again. Unless one of your jaunts is to Fresno! ;)

That's cool. I wish I was that lucky (In the finding a job sense) but congrats again on the new gig and hope all goes well. Sounds like things are getting off to a good start.
