The second Star Trek film without Klingons

Although they were mentioned, this is only the second Star Trek film without a Klingon on screen. :klingon:

I'm actually very happy this is the FOURTH film without Klingons as the primary villan.

First Contact - Borg
Insurrection - Son'a
Nemesis - Remans and Rommies
nuTrek - Rommie Miners

TWOK Khan
TMP V'Ger
TVH Whale probe
TFF God, Laughing Vulcan

Lot's of ST films without Klingons as primary villains, but they've made a cameo appearance in all but two. All if you include the Kobyashi Maru tests.

I want a Cardassian Movie darn it. Given this universe is different from the other one, I think it could work.

Well, they never established when the Federation actually made contact with the Cardassians. I always assumed it was after Kirk's time but for all we know, contact with them might have happened years earlier. They just became more of a threat in later centuries.

I think you mean "Apart from Worf".

Edit: Oops, you mean full stop, not in a row, gotcha.

You are thinking TWOK as well right??

that was what I was thinking. upon further reflection, you've basically got nods to Klingons in all the Star Trek films, including this one. I am cheating with Worf, though.

But my OP was just to note that this is only the second time that no Klingon has appeared on screen. TWOK was the other time.

They filmed a whole sequence on Rura Penthe that got cut from this film, incidentally.

They are in the film, they are in a deleted scene. I think JJ cut them because their scenes would seem forced, which to me is a good idea since Berman forced all of TNG's cast time on screen all the god damn time, just for the sake of being there.
