The Sci-Fi Acting Collective

Well, the other part of it is that actors are doing a lot more work than we know about. I work at a museum that has a theater attached - and much to my surprise I passed Armin Shimmerman as I was going down the stairs to my office last spring. He was working in the play that was being produced. A lot of television actors do a good deal of professional stage work.

Probably because their film schedules for a season are fairly set so they know when they'll be available for say a 3 or 6 month theater run.

Brent Spiner was a reoccurring and John Larroquette a regular on Night Court, Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell starred in Quantum Leap, connecting Enterprise with nu-BSG.
