I'd seen the poster for this for a month or two and wasn't especially excited about seeing it, but it blew me away. Between it and Tropic Thunder, I haven't laughed so much during the summer movie season in years.

Rainn Wilson (The Office) is dead-on as the 80's rock drummer who (after trying to "grow up" for twenty years) gets one more shot with his nephew's high-school band.
Only The Rocker isn't a gross-out adolescent comedy, it also is quite sweet in some places and the young actors playing the other band members are all quite good.
It's sort of a 21st Century version of That Thing You Do!, which is one of my favorite movies. And the songs the one kid "writes" are really pretty good, as is the slap against Heavy Metal rock celebrity.
Again, a really nice surprise that almost any age above twelve can enjoy (swearing is at a minimum, and there are consequences for most drug and alcohol use)
