The Roast of Bob Greenberger - now on DVD!

David Mack

Writer
Rear Admiral
Hi, all!

This announcement is for those of you who have been intrigued by all the hoopla on this board about the Shore Leave convention in general and the comedy roasts staged by the con's Star Trek author guests to help raise money for the American Red Cross.

The DVD of this year's roast of Bob Greenberger is now available for purchase on my website.

Preview clips of the DVD on YouTube:

The DVD sells for $10 (plus sales tax), plus $5 shipping and handling. If I should be so fortunate as to ever recoup my production costs, I will donate 50% of the purchase price of subsequent sales of the DVD to the American Red Cross.

The DVD includes such bonus material as a producers' commentary track, and "best of" videos from the first two roasts, of Keith R.A. DeCandido and Michael Jan Friedman.

I hope some of you decide to take a chance and pick up a copy, and that you'll return to this thread to share your feedback and any questions you might have about it.

Until then, a tip o' my hat to moderators Rosalind and LightningStorm, who gave me permission to share this news in this forum. :)

Awesome news.

When I saw the title, I was hoping for videos from the previous Roasts as well, and what do you know... It's in the Bonus Features. lol.

I probably would of bought all 3 though since I can never make it to Shore Leave anyways.

^ Alas, because of copyright issues (and my failure to properly secure clearances for music and video clips), I can't legally sell the DVDs of the first two roasts. However, the parts I selected for the "best of" montages are completely free and clear, so this is the next best thing to having DVDs of the first two shows (which can be seen in their entirety via my Facebook page, by those who "friend" me).

I didn't realize that MJFs was also up on your Facebook page in addition to KRADs.

Thanks again for taking the time to make those available.

Edit: I just checked your page and noticed that for the MJF Roast in 10 Parts, Part 4 & Part 7 are missing.
I'm terrible with Facebook since they made even more changes, so I figured I'd ask what's missing and where can I find it?

Thanks again David

^ All 10 parts are there; you need to go past the first level of photo/video listings.

Starting from my FB profile page, click on "photos" in the right-side column; on the Photos page, at the top of the center column, click "See All: Videos"; then scroll down on that page. You'll see all my currently available videos. All of MJF's is there (part 1 is on the second page of video listings).

ETA: The reasons parts 4 and 7 aren't listed on my first page of photos/videos is because I am not tagged as being in them; those were the pre-recorded clips produced for the show.

I just checked out the clips, and it was pretty funny. I'll definitely think about picking it up. I'll let you know if I do.

Thanks for the rundown. Always great to see Felicia Day taking a role. How'd she get involved with the Roast?

Seeing your facebook videos of the KRAD roast inspired me to go to that next Shore Leave and enjoy the MJF roast in person. I couldn't do this past Shore Leave (we had a new baby at the end of last year) but I'm planning on making the next.
