The Return of the Sidekick

Hi all,
This is what I wrote

I agree with Vic from Screenrant, on the return of the sidekick. But like I've said in previous posts if there is a post-Nolan-verse Batman, and is introducing Dick Grayson toward the end of The Dark Knight Rises. In succeeding films begins his evolution from sidekick to hero.Instead of within two films he goes from just becoming the ward, and then by the next film he's Nightwing.
Unless certain traits of Robins of the past are included like Jason Todd's fighting skills Dick's deductive reasoning,Tim Drake's computer savvy into one character, but name him Dick Grayson that could work in the dark real world of the Batman.
Well that's my take on this.

I wish you had also had it edited.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. That Robin should be introduced in the next Batman movie in order to continue the Nolan franchise, because I find that incredibly unlikely, or that sidekicks in general should return?

Not really sure what you're trying to say either Buck. My take on Robin in the Nolanverse is that he would have worked had Nolan wanted to use him. As I've mentioned before "Dark Victory" is a perfect example of how to introduce and use Dick Grayson without it being campy. I have always been of the belief that Batman needs a Robin (to paraphrase Tim Drake) to keep him grounded. Nolan commented I think in between "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight" that Dick wasn't even a glimmer in his parents eye in the continuity of his films so it's really doubtful that we'll see him. Perhaps whoever takes over the Bat film franchise will want to include Robin.

FYI: The weekend edition of USA TODAY features an article on the history of superhero sidekicks. The article is also available on-line at usatoday.com. (Check the "movies" section.)

Buck, I feel like I'm only getting part of a conversation.

And then I said, "It's not my fault she lost her virginity, but where else are you going to get flavored condoms at 4 AM, in the middle of nowhere, after a square dance?". They didn't have an answer for that one.

Yeah, the post sounds like it's in response to something, but I have no idea what.

Cut the man a break, he's been gone for 500 years. This must be the conversation he was having before he fell asleep.

Vic Hollerman is the Webmaster of ScreenRant.com,and co-sysops with IMJ on Advanced Iron.Org an Iron Man site that I've been a member of,but lost my link to when I changed computers from a desktop to an laptop that is functioning as a desktop computer for me.
Its a response to an article that Vic wrote on ScreenRant.com.
So I hope that this clears up the confusion, and we can discuss sidekicks not just robin, but how they're treated in the comic books, movies, and TV.
