The Reman Mighta Been Cannon Fodder during the War but

the shot their hand-held weapons worse than the A-Team. Perhaps all that time in the dark messed up their eyesight.

I'm pretty sure in Nemesis they said that the Remans were sensitive to light.

In comparison to any other bad guy on TV their markmenship is on par. Nameless crew members they can kill at 20 paces but anyone with a name that appears at the top of the credits, they suddenly decided they are three times as wide and aim for the edges.

If the Romulans were just using them as cannon fodder, then marksmenship probably wasn't a top priority in their training.

Yup. The sad thing is that they weren't shooting straight even on their dimmed-down home turf, the dark corridors of their own starship. Whereas Picard, who should have been virtually blind there, was. (In theory, Data might have had some sort of night vision, although we have no evidence of such a thing.)

Of course, it could be that Shinzon's warriors in the corridor were untrained in the use of their firearms, being sailors first and foremost. Perhaps Romulans wouldn't allow multidiscipline training for their slave troops?

With all those laser bolts flying around, it's not surprising they couldn't see where they were shooting.

Which begs the question: when the Remans boarded the Enterprise, why didn't our heroes simply turn up the lights in the hall way? I refuse to believe that the ship was so damaged that they didn't have enough power to manage even that simple task :)

No one had their lights on during Nemesis

Go back and watch the film again. At one point Data clearly says "internal illumination down to 25%". I just thought he was talking about the fridge in his chest.

The Enterprise-E already looks like it's lit by 20 watt bulbs. If they lowered the lights any farther, the Starfleet types wouldn't be able to see.
