The Ray Bradbury Theater? Good sci-fi show?

I was on Amazon and was putting the dvd sets for original Outer Limits and original Twilight Zone series on my Wish List, and was suggested this show called The Ray Bradbury Theater.

Anyone here watched this show? Was it good, and is it something I might enjoy if I'm a fan of the original TOL and TTZ?

I have that, it is a good show. How many discs is that release you're looking at? The release I got almost a decade ago was put out by Platinum Disc Corp., is only five discs, and the episodes are horribly compressed.

Yeah, Amazon lists 5 discs. I don't mind video quality if it means it is cheaper.

I'm buying the original Outer Limits in a few days. I've really started to love that show after staying up late these last couple of weeks watching the reruns.

The Ray Bradbury Theater in my opinion has more misses than hits, but even with the misses I appreciated the uniqueness of the stories.

The production values were threadbare enough as it is, compressing them won't make that much of a difference.

Still doesn't change the fact that it was an awesome show, though! (My favorite ep is "To the Chicago Abyss")

Yep, great show overall! My biggest problem with the DVD set I got is that the discs arent labled one, two, three etc. and don't have any episode listings on them so it's hard to remember which eps are on which disc, so you can't just look at a glance, you have to put the disc in the player and look at the menue, just to find out what's on which disc. Other than that quibble, I was quite happy with it, and definetly recomend it.
