I was thinking that myself, why was it just Humpbacks, were there no other types of whales on Earth, what about Dolphins? I could be wrong but aren't Dolphins the smartest of the whale species, also there the ones who decided to flee the planet when it under threat in the Hitchhikers Guide.

If I had been the Probe, I think I would have been more interested in talkin' to the tuna and the flounder. I would imagine that they'd be superior conversationalists with a more sophisticated sense of humor, rather than hump-back whales.............Uugghhhh.......
