HOW many people still watch this show?

and did you catch today's episode where they tried to be funny . I like the fact that they showed some of the backstage arera which was great . this show is set to my dvr its all ways fun to watch . I think drew carey is great as the new host.

april fool's episode :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I didn't watch today, but it's easy and agreeable to watch over lunch.
You know, I can't eat and watch Dexter episodes at lunch. It's too bloody.
I'm much rather see TPIR. I wish I had vintage episodes from the 80s and 90s to watch instead. Drew hasn't grown on me quite yet. His banter with the beauties is better, tho.

well you should've watched it today the had thing's falling apart on set and fire's starting .

wow today sucked no one gotta dollar only one person won a prize and then on the finale game they both went over on their bids.

bad day for drew.

I've only watched one episode since Drew took over, and he looked bored as hell and didn't seem to care about the games at all. His "congratulations you won the showcase showdown" had about as much energy as a guy ordering a sandwich.

I hope he was just having an off day, or that someone gave him a good talking to, beacuse I loved that show as a kid. In the late 70s my grandmother went to about 50 tapings, but never did get to 'come on down'.

He's got that bored look every single taping. You have to ask yourself what the producers were thinking when they chose him. When he doesn't look bored he comes off as an ass, which is great for the Drew Carey Show but all wrong for the host of The Price is Right.

yeah BOB retried (to take care of his emotional cripple son Barney). No just kidding I think he just retired to retire . He guesed hosted wwe raw and wrote a book .

Yeah, exactly. He doesn't come off as very charismatic at all. He's about as much a fit for the Price is Right as Wayne Brady is for Let's Make a Deal. Both of them come off as totally wrong choices.

Umm...he wasn't fired.

Ummmm. Yeah he was. A few months before he was fired he did an interview saying he had just recently signed a three year but he doubt he would be around that long because he knew they were looking for replacements.

So a few months later he just happened to "retire".

only one person won a game and we had two dollar winners. the only cool prize today was a corvette in the finale game . and he did'nt win it . he was so off .

That's because as far as I can remember, they didn't know how long it would take to find a replacement, so they had him re-sign with the understanding that he could be replaced whenever. For all intents and purposes, he knew going in that he was retiring, but didn't exactly know when. They needed the security of someone they could count on until they could find a replacement, and considering it's shown every day, they couldn't have any gaps in the production. When they knew they had their replacement, then he retired. The plan all along was for him to retire. For up to a year earlier, there was news about his retirement, from articles to interviews.

The best story arc was when Bob Barker was nailing all the blonde presenters while encouraging the audience to get their pets spayed or neutered.

As long as it was the PETS being spayed or neutered...

And having a host sign a contract and then having him replaced is nothing new. Heck, they may STILL be paying him out on that contract. What if Carey had started the gig and totally bombed? They would still have Barker on call and would have been able to bring him back while the search continued.

I think Drew Carey's just fine as a host and has improved considerably since he started. He's also gotten a couple guest star roles outside TPIR and NOT as the host of the show; he's even back doing improv comedy on a GSN show this month. He's no Bob Barker, to be sure, but if they were going for a clone of Bob there would be a million more qualified actors or radio personalities who'd do exactly that.

[And this, from a guy who generally disliked his stint hosting "Whose Line".]

Bring on the replacements for Trebek and Sajak!

Bring on the replacements for Trebek and Sajak!

[Hank Hill]NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO![/Hank Hill]

Who could ever match the pomposity and faux intelligent aura of Alex Trebek? Why, who would then try to sell insurance to old people? Alex Trebek must be protected!
