The Pillars of the Earth CH4

My wife's a big fan of the book (I haven't got round to it yet) so I guess we'll be watching it. Looks like a great cast, so I don't mind that so much as I mind her watching Strictly Come Dancing...

Saw it a couple of months ago, Netflix would put up the episode after Starz, aired them. I had no knowledge of the book going in. Some of the story seemed rushed to me

Pillars is pretty good, but they do throw a lot of characters at you fast. For those familiar with the book it's no problem, but I ended up re-watching the first two episodes to get myself accustomed.

Defiantly worth a look.

I've seen it and liked it very much, it's a quality product about a period in English history that is not frequently visited. I started to read the novel after I've seen the mini-series and so far I like it very much. The mini-series cut lots of stuff from the book, as far as I understand ...

It was fairly good. A few odd moments, like when they flashed a "ten years later" title, but all the actors looked exactly the same.

I saw it on Starz. Hubby and I both really enjoyed, even though neither of us had read the book.

Ian McShane and Rufus Sewell are AWESOME. I think it's a pretty good little mini-series.

I watched the first half hour. There seemed to be a lot of exposition, probably entirely necessary, that bored me. I didn't last long unfortunately. I'm interested enough to buy the book, though.
