There's nothing to link to cos Lucasfilm is taking down anything that comes online. It apparently screened with the 3 Muskateers.

At the end of the trailer it said 'In 3D + 2D Cinemas', which implies all six films are being released 'normal' as well. Which is good.

I might consider seeing the original three. Especially 'Empire.' ... in 2D.

I'd probably go see the OT in 2D when re-released (Though I already did that back in the late-90s with the first re-release of the SE) but right now I'm not so sure. The changes made to them over the years are almost too much to really put up with.

I expect the theatres to milk this for all its worth by limiting 2D showings so that people are forced to see them in 3D. This will likely be the case at least in Canada where there's a lack of competition.

Will the 3rd dimension actually let Han talk it out with Greedo instead of resorting to violence?

I had zero problems finding a 2D showing of the Lion King when it was rereleased in 3D and 2D this year.

I might actually do this, see them in 3D that is. I generally don't care for it, but I wouldn't mind seeing these in the theater again. I'll definitely see them in 2D.

And I saw the Phantom Menace trailer somewhere else, and it just reaffirms my longheld belief that TPM is another good pass through the editing bay away from being a decent B-grade scifi flick.

Yeah, but how often is a 2D showing compared to the 3D showing? They usually don't have very many of them as they like to focus on 3D. Usually the case would be to go to a different theatre, but that can be problematic if there isn't another one.

The trailer is now available on the official website, StarWars.com. And I don't see anything indicating that all six films will be re-released in February -- it just says Episode I in 3D and in select 2D theaters.

I just don't see myself paying fifteen dollars to see a movie that I already own, even if it is in 3D. I never went back in the late 90s when the OT was being re-released and that was back when going to the movies was still somewhat reasonably priced.

I'm more than happy to shell out however-much-it-costs to see these films in 3D because a. I'm not a pauper and b. the spectacle of Star Wars ships and aliens and monsters delivered in 3D is enough of a hook for me.

I don't care how much people seem to hate Episode 1. I'm totally going to go see it. That film has more sentimental value to me than I can say.

1999 revival! Hell yeah!

Greedo now shoots at the audience. In 3-D.

Assuming Jar Jar gets shitcanned, that pass takes it all the way from "raped my childhood" to "verbally abused my childhood".

I never said they'd release them THIS February.

It will be a 2D release for all six films over the next five years.
