The people on the island (spoilers)

biotech

Vice Admiral

They are all going to think the oceanic six are dead.

From their point of view, they saw the ship blow up, then the island vanished, they never saw the helicopter ditch, but they know it was low on fuel and with the island gone, they would assume they just drowned, since they wouldnt know about Penny's boat.

I can see Sawyer and Juliet getting together, and if Jin survived and thinks his wife is dead, maybe he will get with the red head, since she can handily speak his laungage and help him learn hers.

We're going to get more off the annoying Lost non communicativeness (if that's a word) between characters.

Will it even be obvious to Sawyer and Juliette (and anyone else who's left, like Rose and Bernard for example) that the island has moved? I mean sure Locke could tell them, but will they even believe it?

And obviously the find out somehow, someway, that the Oceanic 6 survived since Locke goes back to the mainland to see them for reasons as yet unknown.

As for the treatment of the red shirts... it really is laughable to some extent. I mean in reality the only characters left on the island for us to care about are Juliette, Sawyer, Locke, Claire (if she's alive) Jin (if he's alive)Rose, and Bernard. Everybody else of any consequence is gone (apart from The Others). They can't do another Cousin Oliver and drag out more lostaways that we've never heard of like Nicki and Paulo, that would just be ridiculous.

As we already know from the season finale, Locke will of course discover that the Oceanic Six survived.

And didn't Kate say in one of the flashforwards that she phoned with Sawyer?

Semi-regular contact with the outside world seems to have been re-established at some point.

I'm thinking that when the island moves it will over ride whatever is blocking communications with the outside world, though all the comms equipment seemed to get destroyed when Locke blew up the Flame Station. Of course perhaps the Others have other comm equipment elsewhere, say at the Temple?

Don't forget about Miles, Charlotte, and Daniel.

Yes, but he left the Island. Seems to me he was forced off the Island for whatever reason.

No, she said she was doing a favor for Sawyer (which he whispered to her before jumping from the helicopter). I assume this favor is to look up Cassidy and Clementine and tell them what happened to him.

No, I don't think it has.

Also there can be storylines with Desmond, Penny and Frank.

The people on the island would know the island moved if the boat and it's burning wreckage disappeared. That would leave Jin and any Redshirt alive floating in the water since they didn't go with the island unless Jin (sigh, and maybe a stinkin Redshirt) is rescued by the Zodiac-ers.
They may know they moved because the stars might be different or, they may have moved to a distinctly different climate which would be fun!

Except we're only talking about the people who's on the Island. ;)

I'm thinking that because of all the bad things that happened after the Oceanic 6 left, Locke had to move the island again. But that brings up another question, Since he is off the island, does he have to use a wheelchair again?

The newspaper clip (which appears to be accurate considering his alias) mentioned a wheel chair.

Hmmmm...maybe not. I just looked at the LostPedia article and there's no mention of it. I guess I remembered wrong.

Yep - I think that was exactly what Sawyer was thinking on the beach.

And here Sawyer seemed to be getting to be less of a headcase. I can only imagine how deep he's going to spiral into badass psychosis if he thinks he inadvertently helped get Kate and Hurley killed.

Is is January yet? Oh this is going to be the worse hiatus yet...

For the smoke to vanish just might mean the wreckage suddenly got sucked under - a more plausible scenario than a moving island. The stars might be different if the island has actually moved in space rather than in time. ;) And if anyone's paid attention to the location of the stars before. But a different climate is unworkable for Lost's production.

The finale left me less wowed than last years. But, I think it painted a good picture of what's going to happen next year.

1) Yes, those on the island will think the O6 are dead. That'll provide some ongoing drama.

2) Bad stuff happens on the island.

3) Locke determines the O6 are alive. Not really surprising because "the Others" could communicate with and visit the mainland. There maybe some backups to do this even if less convenient. Locke was busy on the mainland before he died. That and how he died will be covered.

4) And, of course, there will be a myriad of story lines first of getting the O6 together and agreable to going back to the island AND then they need to somehow find the island. Which was apparently difficult enough even before it moved!

So, lots of stuff to cover but the overview was mapped out for us.
