The Pegasus...

There's an episode where a ship ejects its' warp core and the ship drops out of warp immediately but is too far from the core to get back to it with thrusters.
 
Right, but the TNG Trek Manual establishes torpedos as having warp sustainer engines. It's reasonable to assume the saucer might apply the same principles. Doesn't make as much sense for a one-piece ship that already has its own warp core though. In fact, the idea seems to be that the principle applies to an object leaving a ship that's already traveling at warp, not affecting the ship itself.
