I can't remember off the top of my head if the Salmon rumor had appeared at OG before it hit the Sun, but either way it's not that hard to believe the tabloids spend five minutes trawling major message boards for Who rumors they can rush into print. If they've got people digging through Doctor Who Magazine...

Yes it did, by several days, as an outgrowth of the "Obama proves it's time for a black Doctor" stuff, and to make a change from Paterson Joseph.

We're talking about a paper that, last year, "announced" on separate occasions that Patrick Stewart, Ben Kingsley, and Dennis Hopper were playing Davros...

Hopper was going to be Mr Copper in Voyage Of The Damned - that's as close as it gets. He wasn't even going to be the wheelchair-bound (like Davros) Max Capricorn...
