the trailer for "The Orville" just premiered. It is a new Star Trek parody tv show from Seth macfarlane. Visually it looks very similar to "Galaxy Quest" as far as ship design, costumes, set design, and the aliens. However the "humor" in it seems horribly generic and other than visually it doesn't seem to be very much like Star Trek. "Galaxy Quest" was a brilliant parody because it not only parodied the show but also the stars of the show in real life as well as the dedicated fan base without being insulting to any of it. Now a trailer can be misleading and only watching it can say wether it's a good parody or not. But do you think that macfarlane would be able to make a good Star Trek parody? I'm sceptical.
