The Orville Season 2. weird stuff that goes on in the show

urrutiap

Especially episode 2 Primal Urges where Bortus spends more time with a hologram program and makes out with the hologram character than he does with his wife/husband Klyden

What's so weird? Bortus and Klyden were going through marital issues, which Bortus chose to deal with by partaking in holodeck porn. Seems straightforward to me.

And "wife/husband"? What the hell? Klyden is Bortus's husband, just as Bortus is Klyden's husband. If the concept of same sex couples confuses you that much, you can always stick to generalized gender neutral terms like spouse..

also the Dr Kelly and Isaac dating relationship episode was not only weird but pretty much gross where they had sex in her hologram bed in her holoprogram

well yes

especially the doctor and her relationship with Isaac. She went overboard where she had sex with Isaac where he used a hologram image thing to turn himself human in order to make out with her.

I mean, I generally do not enjoy relationships in my SF but this is overboard and weird?

I feel like there is a point to this that I am missing. And the thing with Klyden and Bortus reflects the real-world tendency of people using pornography over being with their partner. That's hardly weird; it's a fact of life.

So is the "weird stuff" only the relationship stuff? :wtf:
I mean, relationships are rather weird when you think about it. Hugging and kissing, sharing a bed, in some scenarios all three of those activities are combined. It's off-brand socialism. It's wrong. You know who else hugged, kissed and shared a bed? Hitler and his wife. And we all saw how that turned out.

( ;) )

If you thought the stuff with Claire and Isaac was weird and gross, you must have really freaked out if you saw the K, Joi, Marriete scene in Blade Runner 2049.

So this entire thread will either end in three more posts or we're looking at something legendary being born....

Which, as note to OP, would involve intercourse. I know that's a confusing subject but there you go.

The weirdest thing is how much time they gave Gordon to strum his guitar. Was this McFarlane doing a favor for a friend?

There's a difference between saying a relationship is unhealthy (realistic even given the number of people who get in to a relationship expecting the partner to change) and saying it's "weird" and someone "went overboard.

The critique is legitimate but not for the reasons postulated in this thread.
