What about a chicken vindaloo?
I prefer chicken tikka masala myself, but if you order it “Indian hot” and they think you can take it then yes, that will work too.

TBH, I had a lip-burner of a chicken vindaloo a while back (extra hot has different meanings to different restaurants). That sort of thing actually doesn't "clean my clock" the way it does for some people.
I suppose if I ate it regularly, it might be a different story. I wonder how Bortus gets along in that department, what with eating anything and everything.
Is there a religious analog to roughage? Jerry Fallwell?
He's more likely an analog to purging.

Not after a certain point, I believe. Gene's vision of humanity was omnipresent in TNG and shades of it were even in "The Cage". Future humanity would not be ruled by emotions, would be austere. Not unlike Vulcans, essentially. Orville feels like 21st century off-duty personnel. Which makes it a lot more entertaining on a certain level, and far - far - more believable than the doped up high school fry cooks shoved onto a spaceship's command ranks in STD*, but the closest parallel I might see are Finn = McCoy sans the cantankerous aspect, and Mercer = season 2 Kirk but edgier.
He likely would feel proud in that the basic tenets of TOS, themes of compassion, etc, that were in 60s Kirk (not 60s Pike) era have lived on and expanded on. He would probably be wowed at the Claire/Isaac relationship, which is something TNG tried to do a few times but never got anywhere nearly as believable.
* seriously, lines like "that's f***ing cool!" is right out of Beavis and Butthead for crying out loud and as far beneath Star Trek as it is beneath Jerry Springer. (ouch) Never mind the farce of season 2 and I'm glad I didn't bother with anymore with loony Tilly and psycho axe murder Spock. Like I said, they're all doped up burger flippers plopped into a spaceship's command structure. I was bleating a year ago how the plotting was all wrong, taking established events from TOS and throwing them haphazardly without time to build them up to make it all feel authentic, the show isn't that much more deeper than Kelvin's movvies, but sure is a lot more dense if they're retconning Nimoy Spock as such a mass murdering psycho that ultimately becomes first officer on the flagship...
It may not have been as dramatically engaging as I would've liked over seven seasons, but we have to give TNG credit for trying to be different from pretty much every drama on TV at the time. That always involved people picking apart each other.
Seriously, no.
Looking back, I can see the flaws. But, at the time, I enjoyed quite a bit of it.
