The Original Crew...

In Caretaker when Voyager got tossed across to the DQ, several members of the crew were killed including the XO the Doctor, and a couple of bridge officers. This may sound bad, but no big loss. In the very few scenes I saw of them I did not like them at all. They treated Tom like he was a leper, I realize that Tom had done some bad things (I'm not to sure exactly what he did, was it something to do with an accident he caused)
He played a character in TNG when he gets expelled from the acadamy for having his squadren preform a dangerous and forbidden manuver. I was none to sad to see them go, their loss was our Gain. :)

i think keeping those anti-paris characters would've made for some interesting interaction on the show. but nope, big time cop out on that one

i mean, we're led to believe that Paris has this nasty past, and the only characters that supposedly know anything about it or at least hold it against him are killed right away. Talk about a bad tease. their interactions could've made for some good character development. but in the end, it was all dropped as quickly as it was brought up and paris gets off scott-free

That academy cadet in the TNG episode was a different character portrayed by the same actor.

Janeway recruited Tom Paris from a rehab facility where he had been sent after a conviction for Maqui (sp?) activities.

Yeah; to keep it straight, just remember: Tom Paris is Admiral Paris's son; Nic Locarno isn't.

You're right on, I should have made it clear that on the actor Robert Duncan McNeill, played the part of Cadet Nick Locarno in TNG episode
"First Duty" he was in no way related to his charcter in Voyager...

Resistance is Futile

It's not like Tom volunteerd for the assignment on Voyager, Capt Janeway wanted him of this mission and requested that he be released from the detension facility to go on it. She was the Capt, and it was her call, the XO should have had more respect for her decision and accepted it, his attitued left a lot to be desired, as in my first post, No big Loss...:)

Dr Fitzgerald, and possibly Commander Cavit, were stationed at Caldik Prime when Paris did the dirty. They had reason to be angry at him, and it was coincidence (and lucky for Tom) that only they got killed.

It's to bad Lieutenant Stadi ( Alicia Coppola from Jericho) got killed, she was pretty Hot and Tom could not resist trying to pick her up 'at warp speed' . :)

although, a picture of Paris playing Locarno is on Admiral Paris' desk as a supposedly young Tom
I'd keep a photo of the nubile Robbie on my desk to snack on.

If Stadi had stayed on board could she have ended being the Troi of Voyager and how would it have changed the babe appeal of the show once Seven came on board?

They did use that angle before with Ro Laren where no one liked her at first when she first joined the Enterprise and only Guinan would give her the time of day. It played out well, they didn't like her at first but after a while they started to accept her bit by bit.
