The Office: Golden Ticket

Samurai8472

Michael's idea to use "Golden Tickets" for prizes for clients causes a problem in the office. Kevin seeks advice from Andy, Jim, and Pam about dating.

Kevin seeking advice from Andy? ooookaaaay

The golden ticket idea could be like that situation with the obscene drawing sent out in season 3

This episode had me at Micheal's attempted Gene Wilder improvised somersault

The KGB opening was great

Micheal asking Dwight to take the fall? thats a bit harsh from a guy who thinks office employees are like family

This was one of those unpleasantly funny episodes.
I laughed but felt uncomfortable at how Michael's cutthroat then jealous attitudes come off.

For all Michael's talk of family, at his heart he's a selfish and crass individual who places himself before anyone else. Hell, he even dropped Holly like a hot potato when he realized how long he'd have to drive to see her! :p

Agreed. Lately they've gone a bit too far with the "heart of gold" Michael, and it was nice to be reminded of the selfish prick that he can be most of the time.

Great episode.

Michael's an absolute asshole, this episode seals it for me. What a douchebag, unbelievable. Exploiting Dwight's loyalty and then raping him after he took the fall?

Fuck you Michael! I'm done with you.

Given that the office is always being filmed we probably should have seen a scene of Michael trying to get the tapes off the crew, maybe even chasing or wrestling with the cameraman.

Or creating a (poor) video edit that could be used as proof that it was Dwight's idea and giving it to the crew. Then later with Wallace he calls for the tape to prove he came up with the idea forgetting he's given the edit to them and we get to see it played for Wallace and his reaction to that.

Just caught up with the show finally. Didn't think too much of the main plot (it's been done) and the only real laugh was the KGB joke. Think I'm gonna try that one out myself (only without the slapping!). :D

Uh, it was Holly who decided to break up with him because of the travel distance.

Definitely the best of the last few episodes. I loved Andy's last line and reaction of the episode. Best line of the episode...

Michael - "Why do you keep a diary?"
Dwight - "I keep secrets from my computer"

I loved when Dwight called Creed "Old Man". There were so many great little jokes in this that I almost missed.

They really don't seem to do much with that though. It's odd enough that the crews follow them to things like Pam/Jim's double date with Phyllis/Bob.

Pretty good episode. The more they try to humanize Michael, the less funny the show is. I loved it when Wallace laughed at Dwight's "That's what she said."
