The Numbers really ARE bad!

The Bulgarian authorities have ordered an investigation after the same six numbers were drawn in two consecutive rounds of the national lottery.

The numbers - 4, 15, 23, 24, 35 and 42 - were chosen by a machine live on television on 6 and 10 September.

An official of the Bulgarian lottery said manipulation was impossible.

A mathematician said the chance of the same six numbers coming up twice in a row was one in four million. But he said coincidences do happen.
I'm not sure what's more sinister: that the same numbers appeared again, or that four of the numbers are, well, THE Numbers™... :shifty:

I blame Enzo Valenzetti. :bolian:

yes I noticed the Lost thing as well, not to mention the answer to the life the universe & everything.

its not impossible this could happen, its the same chance of someone having those numbers on there ticket, and many people have won the lottery, but it does seem odd, and worthy of being looked at

If somebody had those numbers on a Season Ticket, they must be pretty psyched right now. :rommie:

Even if rigged ... the person who wins that next pot would be a co-conspiritor, 'cause what person with a brain would play LAST WEEKS winning numbers?

you can buy tickets which lasts for more than 1 week, even after you won the first week, you have already paid for the second week, so you might as well check

This reminds me of the Grand Prix of Europe 1997, the final race of that season, in Jerez in Spain. During qualifying, and with the drivers' championship at stake, somehow Jacques Villeneuve, Michael Schumacher AND Heinz-Harald Frentzen each managed to secure the day's fastest qualifying time of exactly 1:21.072 (right down to the thousandth of a second). I initially thought there was a timing mistake, as this was way too coincidental back then, especially in a sport like Formula One where there are tons of variables to take into account, many of which are modifiable. (Villeneuve got pole position on account of posting his time first.)
