I am a HUGE fan of GI Combat starring Jeb Stuart and his Haunted Tank. So when I read that DC was making a limited 5 issue series I ran and got them (the fifth one comes out this month).
I must say they were a HUGE disappointment. In a nutshell they focus on Jamal Stuart who is the black tank commander of an M1 Abrams in Iraq that is haunted by the ghost of J.E.B Stuart. In this "re-imagining" all they pretty much do is curse each other out, call each other racist names and maybe fight a quick battle near the end.
There is really no continuity except the ghost and Jamal hate each other and are always debating about the Civil War, but that is about it.
I think they could have done a much better job, like fully explaining how Jamal is related to the ghost when the ghost claims he only haunts the tanks of his descendants and he never had relations with any other woman other than his wife.
Has anyone here read the issues and if so what do you think?
