I am very excited to hear that Star Trek is returning to tv. I am even more excited to see the cast and setting of the show. I was curious to your opinions on who would be a great actor to cast as the new captain of this show?

BTW, the idea of casting the lead character as anything noticeably different from a human being like us is a pipedream. The alien demographic is worthless to CBS, since it's even smaller than the Make-up Appliance Sex Fetishist demo.

Of course, the "new Captain" doesn't have to equate to the main character. Assuming the show is onboard a ship (as implied very loosely by the statement that they'll be "seeking new worlds"), it could still focus on a singular department or even a "Lower Decks" scenario in general, with the Captain being a character who might not even appear in every episode.

My guess is that number of subscribers and perhaps length of subscription are the primary counting that streaming services like Hulu or All Access do.

I'd love to see Anna Silk. I think she would be perfect for it. Amy Adams or Jennifer Garner would be good choices too. Definitely pulling for a female Captain.

I really like Dennis's idea of Greenwood, and I did think of him, but I want them to bring him back in the movies (no, not with Kh- Super Platelets, I don't really know how - fanwank wishie-dust?) but I REALLY like Bry's idea of an Arabic woman! That could really be something good and explorable and new and fresh and wow!
