The NERO thread!!!!

Flying Spaghetti Monster

`Is it just me, or does Nero seem to exist in a whole different movie almost from everyone else? I mean, his look (not really classic Romulan) to the backgrounds in all the scenes he's in.. he seems to be guest starring from a different film. Still, Bana is a good actor, far better than the guy playing Shinzon, so we'll see.

Shouldn't that be the case? he from? at least 80 years in the future and he's an alien to boot!

I'm very happy that we got a capable actor in the role of the villain. From everything I've seen and read so far, I think Eric Bana as Nero will be great. :rommie:

I just think it's great to finally have another evil, intimidating badass like Khan again.

Unlike the old men and whiny wimps we've gotten in the last couple Trek movies, who weren't even REMOTELY threatening.

The more I think about it, the more I suspect that Nero and his cohorts are some type of terrorist group. There are a few reasons that I came to this conclusion.

1. There was mention early on that this movie covered current political and social issues. One of those big issues is terrorism.

2. One of the reviews of the 20 minute screening said that Nero's cohorts called him by name, not rank, so I suspect that they are civilian and have no structured command other than Nero being the head of the gang, so-to-speak.

3. The fact that they shave their heads and have some impressive tattoos. I'm sure those tatoos represent something. A gang sign or something to do with their political or social views.

4. At one point in his life, Nero is held in a Klingon prison. Convicted of what though? Terrorist action against the Klingon state? Is he out to take control of Romulus via terrorist attacks, using time travel as one of his methods of taking over by changing history and making his home world more powerful? One by one, weakening all of the Romulans main adversaries.

5. Even the actors themselves have called the Romulans in this movie, "Pirates".

Jeez, it took me 5 seconds to get that.

Anyway, don't worry about a reboot. Nero can't fiddle with the timeline, its copy protected.

you know he can do dvds too.

Nero will go after his arch rival Roxio in the next movie

Clearly the follicly challenged are going to be a problem in the future. We need to do what we can now to fight this disease before its too late for the human species.

The not so distant future is apparently a wondrous utopia with astounding advances in medical science and engineering. However ,the cure for baldness is still out of mankind's grasp. This has made the follicly challenged angry, bitter, and often insane.
We must wipe out the follicly challenged. They've threatened our very existence and placed Earth in peril on numerous occasions.
