The National Rugby League Grand Final Thread

So in less than 2 days the rugby league grand final will be underway ... between the Manly Sea-Eagles and Melbourne Storm. Sadly, both teams I hate, but as lately I'm beginning to hate Melbourne more than any other team. Maybe it's grappling tackling. Plus I would love to see Manly player Steven Menzies go out with a premiership. A true legend. He has played 348 games and scored 179 tries, which is the second most ever in the history of rugby league.

Thoughts??

Naturally I'm going for the Storm. The Sydney press are sure stiring some hatred up towards us "Mexicans".

Hopefully the Storm can shut them up like Geelong did to Port Adelaide in last year's AFL Garnd Final.

Once they were everyone's second favourite team ... now we (NSW) hates the Storm.

A lot of hate has to with how Melbourne tackle.

I still like the Storm more than the Bulldogs.

When I gave a damn about league I despised Manly, like anyone with any sense. If I still gave a damn about league I'd despise Melbourne. They spend far too much time whining about "conspiracies" and "media beat-ups" and all sorts of other stupid made-up crap. They're like a group of spoiled kids bitching about how nobody likes them.

So frankly I couldn't care less which team wins. They both suck.

Anyways today is the big day. Just watched the first game of the day - with NSW Cup between Wentworthville and Newtown, and the game went for 105 minutes. Some of the shots for field goals were bad. Justin Horo from Wenty was pure comedy, but Wenty won 12 to 8, with it being 8 all for over 40 minutes.

As much as I despised Manly back in the day, that flogging couldn't have happened to a more deserving group. :bolian:

Melbourne does have a few players that I like to watch, but as a whole unit and complaining, that really was a low point. Just accept it and move on.

Manly were awesome today. There was a time when I could have been a Manly supporter, as I did live there for 6 months about 30 years ago.

I had some joy with the Canberra Raiders under 20s winning the Toyota Cup...god, they dropped a lot of ball that kept Brisbane in the game. With that and our feeder team winning in Queensland I hope that the Raiders will be able to keep the bulk of the talent for the future.

I wanted Manly to win but didn't expect them to flog the Storm...so I ended up feeling sorry for them near the end of the game.
