Game The Most Disliked Vaughn Armstrong Appearance

First Flight provided some nice scenes regarding the pre-ENT period of Starfleet. Seeing Vaughn Armstong as Forrest at a different part of his career was a lot of fun.

ENT Season 1: "Fortunate Son" (Forrest)
ENT Season 1: "Sleeping Dogs"(Klingon Captain)
ENT Season 1: "Fusion" (Forrest)
ENT Season 1: "Shockwave, Part I"(Forrest)
ENT Season 2: "Shockwave, Part II"(Forrest)
ENT Season 2: "Cease Fire" (Forrest)
ENT Season 4: "Home" (Forrest)

I love all the "Sleeping Dogs" type episodes ("Juggernaut" and "Starship Down" are other ones that spring to mind).

ENT Season 1: "Fortunate Son" (Forrest)
ENT Season 1: "Fusion" (Forrest)
ENT Season 1: "Shockwave, Part I"(Forrest)
ENT Season 2: "Shockwave, Part II"(Forrest)
ENT Season 2: "Cease Fire" (Forrest)
ENT Season 4: "Home" (Forrest)

Fortunate Son was probably the best Mayweather episode. Not that there were many good ones either, but at least in the episode we see where he comes from.

ENT Season 1: "Fusion" (Forrest)
ENT Season 1: "Shockwave, Part I"(Forrest)
ENT Season 2: "Shockwave, Part II"(Forrest)

Someone will want to choose. Were I eligible, I definitely hate one half more than the other! :bolian:

The Most Disliked Vaughn Armstrong Appearance
??? I was about to say how can this even be a thing - disliking something with Vaughn Armstrong in it? Preposterous! :rommie: But then there is "Shockwave"...

Speaking of, if I must, I'll save Part I because of T'Pol's defence of Archer (even though I think he's being a massive baby) and Enterprise's mission. I find Part II ridiculous and puerile, so it 'wins'.

P.S. If I'd've got here in time, I would've saved "Vox Sola" and "A Night In Sickbay" because I think his Kreetassan captain is magnificent! Oh, and I love "Eye of the Needle", too! :adore:

So "Shockwave, Part II" becomes our fifth double-winner of the round!
(With "Profit And Lace", "Shockwave Part I", "Mercy", and "Perpetual Infinity")

And "Shockwave, Part I" narrowly avoids becoming the first triple-winner.

There really is not a lot of love for Shockwave out there...

This list was all either episodes I quite like or episodes I can barely remember, there were none that jumped out as an obvious winner. "Eye of the Needle" is amazing.

Fury could have won for me, or A Night in Sickbay. :barf:

Though whilst I enjoyed the way ENT ended S1, the trouble was part 2 of Shockwave was awful. Episodes featuring the TCW after that point obviously just kept spinning the wheels of the mystery, whilst also trying to look cool. It was definitely a bad idea to have this recurring threat set up in Broken Bow, and not plan it properly.

"Fury" started out rather well, but then deteriorated into a mess. A revenge-themed episode can be fantastic if done right, but this one is so by-the-numbers and in a way designed for age groups beneath the one where games like "paint by numbers" are introduced... (by 1990s' standards, certainly...)

"A Night in Sickbay" I did not see all 45 agonizing minutes of, but I did sit through all of the delightful minutes of this review:

Especially as the idea of tripping over alien cultures' beliefs by letting Spot mark his territory on a sacred artifact (tree, though if they had fire hydrants...) had a ton of potential, and then ruin that even faster than the nonsense accorded Kes. Especially when it's about as brilliant a move to bring down Doggie for a first contact meeting where you generally want as few random elements as possible... it was bad enough when Kirk brought down a rookie ensign after letting him and everyone else know the Capellans are quick to use their weapons at the mere hint of aggression from strangers, at least they're the same species with a (theoretically) much higher average IQ (and EQ)...

So the fact I'd put "Fury" below that, and yet "Threshold" is slightly higher in the list than both, that takes a lot...

And "Shockwave, Part I" narrowly avoids becoming the first triple-winner.

Far as I'm concerned, it is. I still maintain that the whole episode should have been declared the "winner".

Fury could have won for me, or A Night in Sickbay. :barf:

Sometimes, the winner surprises you. I would have saved ANIS not because it's good, but because it made me laugh. It would have made a decent "Lower Decks" plot, actually.

The Taxidermy Juice Dog video. Nice!

Oh, oops, I got "Shockwave" and "Storm Front" totally confused when I was talking about double-winners and triple-winners. This is actually the first victory for either part of "Shockwave" in this round, it's "Storm Front" that has been piling up the wins. Enterprise has too many awful two-parters about the TCM with two-syllable titles starting with the letter S! I can't keep them straight!

Though "Shockwave, Part II" was also the 2020 winner of this game.

The next one will be: "The Most Disliked Episode Written By Joe Menosky" Hope to see you all there!
