Game The Most Disliked Penultimate Episode

THE OBJECTIVE: A sudden-death elimination game in which we remove our personal favorite episodes/movies from a themed list, until we arrive at the episode that is, if not the worst, at least the most disliked.

THE RULES: Below is a list of the penultimate episode of every Star Trek season thus far.

Eliminate/save your favorite, or the one you deem the ‘best' of what currently remains.
Post something you enjoy about the episode you are saving, and copy-and-paste the list with your choice removed.

You can use any standard you like to judge which option is "best." You can save episodes for being widely recognized “best Trek” classics, or for idiosyncratic qualities that no one appreciates but you.

As you get down the list, you might have to reach more and more for something to enjoy about an episode, and it's OK to eventually save episodes for being "less bad."

But -- no tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you don’t think anyone else will, or because you feel it would threaten your preferred episode's chance to “win.”

You can take multiple turns.

Leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

New players are always welcome, you do not have to already be a "most disliked game" regular to dive in.

I always thought that penultimate slot had an unusually high concentration of peaks and valleys, and this list seems to prove that. A surprising number of all-time favorites on here.

I'm not often moved to save TOS, but I'll start with "All Our Yesterdays." I just love this one, it's such an odd but well-done idea. And it's dying planet setting is the perfect match for that TOS energy and vibe. I also think it's a great Spock story.

About my only complaint is that for the 2nd to last ep of the series, Uhura, Chekhov, and Sulu are completely benched, and Scotty just has a bit of voiceover. But, that was always my overall complaint about TOS -- it would have been greatly strengthened by being more of an ensemble.

I love seeing Curzon and the rest of the old Dax host at Jadxia's Zihan'tara in Facets. Rene Auberjonois plays him very well, and Quark's face when Curzon plays a trick on him is a picture.

Sisko as the recently discovered repressed host Joran was very creepy.

I heard that the Sisko take used was a VERY toned down creepy version.

I would REALLY LOVE to see the ultra creepy version Avery Brooks played. If there's one scene on the cutting room floor in the entire franchise that I would pick to watch, it's that one.

Well, let’s claim my “just here for the romance” label and save Terra Prime. T’Pol names the baby Elizabeth! That baby is unbelievably cute (seriously, I’m not a baby person but Elizabeth is adorable). Trip showing his emotions is catnip to me too. Yes to a future where feeling your feelings isn’t gendered. (The story Connor Trinneer tells about not being able to gather himself back together after tapping into his emotions around his unborn son and Jolene Blalock being the first person outside of his family he told when she comforted him is really, really sweet too.)

I'm going to save DS9's The Sound Of Her Voice.
This episode always struck a cord with me. The way that during a time of high stress, the crew is daring to show how vunerable and hurt they are. How they feel they are cracking. And how a connection with a person they never really knew, connects them again. I loved that.
I also really loved that short little shuttle bay CGI.
