Game The Most Disliked Mirror Universe Episode

THE OBJECTIVE: A sudden-death elimination game in which we remove our personal favorite episodes from a themed list, until we arrive at the episode that is, if not the worst, at least the most disliked.

THE RULES: Below is a list of Mirror Universe episodes from TOS, DS9, ENT, DIS, and LD.

Eliminate/save your favorite, or the one you deem the ‘best.’
Post something you love about the episode you are saving, and copy-and-paste the list with your choice removed.

You can use any standard you like to judge which option is "best." You can save episodes for being widely recognized “best Trek” classics, or for idiosyncratic qualities that no one appreciates but you.

But -- no tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you don’t think anyone else will, or because you feel it would threaten your preferred episode's chance to “win.”

You can take multiple turns. Leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

New players are always welcome, you do not have to already be a "most disliked game" regular to dive in.

"Despite Yourself" (DSC) - I thought this episode was a lot of fun and it's everything I ever wanted the Mirror Universe to be. Mirror Burnham on the ISS Shenzhou and Tilly pretending to be Killy are two major highlights, but I love the entire thing throughout. Except Culber being killed, but I know he comes back, so that part doesn't matter anymore, other than it sent him on the path to who he is now.

Hopefully I did this right.

[Farscape One]

"Despite Yourself" (DSC) - I thought this episode was a lot of fun and it's everything I ever wanted the Mirror Universe to be. I could go with either of the ENT entries. And it probably doesn't really matter which, as the other one's unlikely to stay on the list long. What the heck, let's make it the first one, since that kicks off the epic style-fest. I loved the spin on the First Contact scene, and wow! those alternate opening credits! Then our lovely crew, deliciously, evilly over-the-top in both look and manner. And of course, that painstakingly-crafted recreation of the Constitution-class Defiant. This episode was gorgeous to see and just so much fun!

[Seven of Five]

Crossover is easily my favorite DS9 MU episode. The dynamic between the two Kiras was electric, and Smiley dreaming about what his counterpart is getting up to was inspiring.

I was about to save "The Wolf Inside", which was previously my personal high point for Disco's MU material, but then I realized "Terra Firma" has supplanted it. I'll save Part 1. I can't beliieve how much juice they got out of this return to the MU. It was particularly thrilling to see SMG play the real Mirror Burnham.

I can only really vote on the DS9 eps , haven't seen LD yet, have seen DIS, but only once.

So I'n taking out The Emperor's New Cloak.
Not the greatest episode ever written, but still decently entertaining, as most episodes involving Quark. In particular liked the interaction between him and Mirror-Garak, basically a more brutal and sadistic version of our Garak, whom he manages to convince that 'their own' Garak is still more devious.

Discovery's What's Past is Prologue is close to being my favourite episode from the whole series, so it's my duty to save it. The whole sequence from the Michelle Yeoh vs Jason Isaacs fight in the throne room, to Discovery flying through the Charon, firing torpedoes, and powering its spore drive with its explosion is awesome. But this is also where Discovery stops being Lorca's ship and finally belongs to the crew.

Through The Looking Glass is a really good continuation of Crossover. Sisko having to play his dead counterpart is a fun idea, especially being as Jennifer is still alive.

Saving "SHATTERED MIRROR".

Ben and Jake's hug at the end... you feel what they are feeling.

And the Defiant fighting Klingon ships around the station? ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! One of THE best sequences in the entire series showing how awesome she really is!

Honestly, all of these episodes are great. On the full list, there's only one I don't like, and it was already saved.

Now saving "I, Excretus."
First, Migleemo in fetish gear.
Second, that exchange between Billups and Rutherford:

"Nothing makes me hornier than torturing someone."
"And being horny always gets me in the mood to torture!"
"Yeah, you can really lose a whole day to that cycle."

Perfect. Has there ever been another exchange in any of these that captured the spirit of the MU so succinctly?

I think all remaining eps are fantastic.

It wasn't as good as part one, but Terra Firma provided a good final episode for Georgiou.

I'm saving Vaulting Ambition, so much fun. The Lorca reveal was great and I loved Michelle Yeoh as the emperor.

Honestly, I don't like either option left. So I'll just save "The Wolf Inside" only because "RESURRECTION" was actually rather boring.

"RESURRECTION" wins this game.

(Frankly, "THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOAK" is far worse than this one, but at least it wasn't boring.)

I like "Resurrection" now, but I really hated it the first time. I had been waiting soooooo long for a follow-up to "Shattered Mirror", and by that standard, "Resurrection" did not satisfy! But, returning to it years later, I find it one of Trek's most successful ROTW's (low bar, I know). And I am glad that it brought Kira and the Intendant back together for the only time post-"Crossover."

I am surprised to realize how much I love the MU overall. Every one of these offers something fun.
