And here are the Finals for VOYAGER. Quite a few here truly deserve it. But a couple are just victims of no one saving them in time. Which is why I'm voting for "LEARNING CURVE" this round.

I always appreciate Tuvok episodes that don't center on him losing his marbles. We learn he was an instructor at the Academy, and it totally fits who he is.

Good story, and one of the few times we actually see the premise of the series, Starfleet and Maquis crew learning to work together, actually be used.

And how can anyone not appreciate, "Get the cheese to sick bay."

"Learning Curve" was a pretty standard "training film," but after all these years I can still call the class members to mind (Chell, Henley, Geron, and Dalby), which suggests they were at least vivid enough to remember. And Tuvok makes a good instructor. Can't say I loved this one, but there were certainly much worse episodes.

I'll vote for "The Disease". At least they tried, sorta, to address the STD epidemic... I don't think it helped much because it's worse nowadays. If you want to talk about glowing body parts, just say "Syphilis", though nowadays I wouldn't be surprised if the phrase "Syph' is so sophis'!" would be used...

After EIGHT different people voted, not a single episode has been eliminated yet. I think this is a first for a Finals round for any series.

I feel like this will be perhaps the most exciting Finals we've seen yet. AND I LOVE IT!


And right when I post this, I find "LEARNING CURVE" is saved.


My vote for this round is "RETROSPECT".

I think it's a solid episode with great performances by Picardo and Ryan. And it was an unexpected twist that it was her assimilation that was the real memory.

I am kind of a fan of "The Fight." If only for another improbable cantankerous Boothby appearance, Ray Walston's final. I kind of like Chakotay centered episodes too since he had so few. Beltran is a boxing fan and wanted to get in better shape prior to filming but they did not give him enough notice.

It may not be the strongest episode story wise, but I always liked its bizarre feel, and Chakotay fearing he might be going mad, especially that 'dreaming' scene where the other crewmembers berate Chakotay from wanting to fight and the EMH tells Chakotay menacingly about the damage caused by boxing.
